A doorway to the language
Learn at your own pace.
Build with care.
SimiPunku grew out of a wish to learn Quechua and talk with the people who speak it.
We start with Chanka
Our first course focuses on Chanka Quechua, the Ayacucho variety, with explanations in Spanish or English. Other interface languages and varieties can be added when their materials are ready.
You can currently explore 15 short lessons and a dictionary of 50 expressions. The site is free and does not require an account.
Where the material comes from
We use books as references to prepare our own explanations and activities. Each expression identifies its source; we do not reproduce the books’ illustrations, songs or exercises on this site.
Main source
Rimanakusun — Quechua Chanka
Worksheets for learning an Indigenous language as a second language, first year of primary school
Ministerio de Educación del Perú, first edition, 2025.
Content: Riyna Esther Aguilar Quispe. Language review of the book: Oscar Chavez Gonzales.
We used the book’s examples to prepare these lessons. Each expression lists its printed and PDF page numbers.
This is a preview version. The Quechua forms have been compared with the book, but translations and nuances of use remain under review. The book’s language review does not imply a review of this site. English explanations are adapted from our Spanish drafts.
A small project, open to improvements
Our priority is to make each lesson clear and useful. We will then expand the vocabulary and course, keeping each variety’s material separate.
In this version we do not store your name, answers or progress. There are no accounts or visitor analytics.
